Internal Struggle

Internal Struggle

A Poem by Brandon M. Whittaker
"

Bored and on watch...

"

A twisted concoction of hate and guilt

Boiling under the surface of pain

Leading to dispair and fury

Fear grips the mind and sends screaming messages to the mind

Loathing the words it conjures for lack of positive ambition

The horrid thoughts take over

Corrupting the mind

Bringing an end to it all

With a flash and the bitter taste of alcohol

Brandon, it's been awhile since I've read you, and I am now remembering the intensity of some of your work. How much longer will you be deployed? When I read your work, and knowing where you are, it sheds a different light on the piece, and also brings about worry. As always, well written and very raw. I pray for your safety and hope you will be returning to the states soon my friend!
