Our Planet

Our Planet

A Poem by G.T.G

Our Planet
Beautiful and green
Trees and wildlife in abundance
From the deepest depths of the bluest sea
To the lofty heights of the mightiest mountains peak

The rivers run across the land
Across the fields, through the forests,
Right up to the desert sands,
Animals wander all around,
Birds sing in trees,
Wild horses run across the ground,

Our planet thrives,
Full of life,
Full of coulor,
Until along comes man,
We cut down the forests,
We pollute the rivers,
We pollute the seas,
Just to feed our undying greed,

We pollute the air from our engines,
Our rubbish fills the oceans,
Animals in oil spills.
The bees are dying out,
Still man carries on,

Our planet,
Was beautiful and green,
Everything is dying now,
All the ice is melting,
The greatest reef is nearly gone,
Why is no one crying?

O, what have we done?,
O, what have we done?,
Why does no one care?,
Tell me please,
What can we do?,
Is it to late?,
Is our planted doomed?

Our planet,
Once beautiful and green,
Once full of life and vibrant,
The colour is all fading now,
The land is turning barren,
Ravished by the race of men,
We are the disease!
