Wishes

A Poem by Beatles9322
"

I wrote this 3-4 yrs. ago.

"

I walk down the halls
Of our junior high school
But you don't notice me at all
Sometimes I wish.

You say "hi" when you see me out
But when your friends are there
"Hey" is what you'll never shout
Sometimes I wish.

I miss when we were friends
I liked you and you knew
Little did I know I'd never see that smile again
Sometimes I wish.

I know I can never have you
You will never love me
But, I'll love you no matter what you do
Sometimes I wish.

I wish you'd give me a chance
So I can prove to you
That I'm worthy enough for you to say, "May I have this dance?"
Sometimes I wish.

But, wishes don't come true.

The theme with the repeating line:

Sometimes I wish.

and the reader keeps focus on that alone...as you piece this together and get at the heart of it all... and the end gives the last calling:

Sometimes I wish.
But, wishes don't come true.
