The Fears Which Are Felt By None But Her...A Poem by Beatles9322Inspired by my life. I am "her."
What is a girl to do
When she is blessedly cursed with timidity? Her silence is her Achilles' heel, A weight she can feel but cannot see. He called her "pretty" but that Was the only saving grace. He made another comment, Which he would never say to her face. Why must she hold her tongue, In front of all but her mom, She must gather her strength, And ask him to the Junior Prom. With prom but a month away, Her time is quickly running out, Her thoughts race and her stomach flutters, As she considers all the factors of doubt. He could say "no" and laugh in her face He could touch her cheek and say "yes", The fear is too much for her to bear, "Oh well," she thinks, "at least I didn't buy a dress." © 2010 Beatles9322
