DAMN THE DARK!

This was inspired my Flyleaf's song "In The Dark" from their album Memento Mori. ;) 6/1/10

Darkness pours over me.

All traces of light are washed away.

I sit here, beside myself, and pray

That through my life, the darkness will stay.

 

Secrets are hidden in a small box

In my mind; pushed against a wall.

I hope each day that the darkness will not fall.

Rocking back and forth, sobbing, I give it my all.

 

"I hide myself in the dark."

There are no other words to describe me best.

I listen to them only and tune out all the rest.

I must keep faith...I must pass this test.

 

"DAMN THE DARK!"

I must relinquish control

Of all that I cannot hold.

Oh, gosh, these fears are making me old.

 

Light rushes in my heart.

For once, I am not afraid.

I will learn to embrace today.

Thank Jesus, my soul has been saved.
