Hazy Lights And Romantic Nights

I was watching Shakespeare In Love and thinking about it, Sonnet 116, Romeo and Juliet, and the guy I like and got completely inspired. Lots of inspiration! 11/18/10.

I softly glide across the dance hall
As my forbidden lover gently presses his palm to mine.

"Palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss."
Each fingertip touch tingles my senses.

The hazy light of the candles sweeps me
Into an unknown world masked by rose-tinted glasses.

Every step I take brings me nearer to you.
You twirl me around you and I am suddenly sure.

Those hazel eyes lock with my deep chocolate eyes.
You convey the message that I need to hear.

With haste, you escort me into the brisk outside air
And we both step into a fairytale carriage: your Mini Cooper.

We drive as though there is nothing behind us.
As though we have everything bright in our future.

For the first time in my tumultuous seventeen years,
I am no longer frightened, as you are forever by my side.
