Am I Really Over You?

Written about Frankie. 3/15/11.

Countless are the nights I spent

Shedding tears for a love that never was.

 

The emotional and psychological pain I felt

Was almost too great to hold deep inside.

 

The thought of being your girl after all of that turmoil

Is something I confront myself with daily.

 

After nearly two years of being convinced that we're soulmates,

I'm starting to see things a bit differently.

 

You see, I've found a new boy, Frankie.

His name is Joey and he smiles at me every day.

 

Joey talks to me and gently teases me

Whereas you constantly penetrated me with your eyes.

 

Which is a sign that I've captured a boy's fancy?

I'm almost certain I'll never know.

 

While it would be so easy to woo and snatch him up,

One question pulses throughout my mind, Frankie.

 

Am I really over you?
