For What You Are

For What You Are

A Poem by Beatles9322
"

To my love, Eric.

"
My spirit glows when you enter
our Psychology lecture hall, 409.
You shrug off your green canvas backpack
and slide into your seat, right below mine.

Sitting back in your chair, your head tilted,
you absorb the information, with a quiet enthusiasm.
Something tickles your interest and up your hand goes.
Eloquently you speak your peace, entrancing me intellectually.

I am awestruck. I am void of breath, void of reason.
Whatever I used to preach against,
I now wholeheartedly accept-because you associate with them.
You raise a cigarette to your pouty pink lips...

And I do not recoil! Rather, I find this practice
indefinitely sexy and slightly sexual.
I see you and react physically for the first time in years.
My heart POUNDS and my stomach TINGLES!

I love you for all you are...
And for all you are not...

A very nice poem. Good to dream and feel content when seeing another person. Make us feel young and fearless once again. I like the ending to the outstanding poem.
