I'm sorry I'm not what you thought I was
and if it makes you feel better
I'll start wearing colour again
it's just, I've been feeling so terrible these
past few months
and I can't help thinking
you don't see
how my body wakes up alone
and spends everyday fading into this nothingness I've created
if it makes you feel better
I'll move out of the state
burn all my art
and start over again
if it makes you love me more
I'll pretend I'm normal
the depression is all in my head,
you're right
anxiety isn't real,
I'm making myself upset.

I'll stop hurting myself
it's just, I've been so numb these past few months

Yes to the not hurting yourself, but no to the rest. You should never have to pretend for anybody. If you're depressed, then you are, and people can just deal with it and love you anyway, if they care about you. Whether it's family or friends or a guy or whoever, you only need to make time for people who wouldn't change a single thing about you, because there isn't a single thing about you that needs to change.
That's all I really need to say, I guess.
