Holding Onto Heaven

Holding Onto Heaven

A Poem by Gabrielle Linch

I have stories left to tell,
They're of the healing kind.
Headed into the great unknown,
It's what's keeping me alive.
I'm holding onto heaven.

I'm searching for relief
In a cold cruel world,
that wants nothing more,
than to break me.
I'm holding onto heaven.

Uncertain where to go,
Lost into something else.
Somewhere in the silence,
I find the one to trust.
I'm holding onto heaven.

Repeat my words over again,
"I don't need anyone."
But I do need someone.
Especially Him.
I'm holding onto heaven.

In a golden city
On black clouds,
He will wait for me,
With open arms.
I'm holding onto heaven.

Thank you so much sweetheart!
We're all hanging onto something. Nicely written.

We must find relief in this cold, cruel world. This is a beautiful poem, never lose your grip!

Religion can be spectacularly interesting and poetic. I once met a very intelligent man, who was a college professor. He explained to me how he used to be an atheist, until he looked at a rose garden and thought "God must have had created this."

This poem describes the mindset of a lot of people. Waiting for salvation in a "cold, cruel world." Needing Him in your life. I enjoy learning about it, and seeing different perspectives. Wonderful piece of writing.
