A Poem by Gaia Octavia

To pick apart
what isn't there
just to pretend
that someone cares

A worn-out game
well past its prime
I have not played
for quite some time

Come sit right here,
my newest friend,
where your self-worth
does not depend

On anyone
who isn't you,
and happiness
is nothing new

I understand
why you still play
but not why you
won't walk away

What do you need -
when it's so clear -
to recognize
your peace is here?
