Rise Up

Rise Up

A Poem by Gaia Octavia
"

The same words can mean different things depending on your point of view.

"

From the bottom up.

Learn to show compassion and respect to all

those who have succeeded,

‘cause the world will continue to hurt until

they are acknowledged;

resilient, strong, and pure -

(and still somehow wanting for nothing).

And those who are the poorest, and lowest in station

will learn their true place in the world,

soon,

one day,

from those at the top who

refuse to listen to it all,

and it won’t be until we

turn a blind eye,

and accept it’s our fault, that we

take responsibility,

demand accountability,

of those people who think we are all equals:

I call upon all

To show them the error of their ways,

it’s time.

Rise up,

Rise up.

Author's Note

Gaia Octavia
Read the lines in order and then in backwards order for a different experience (negative to positive respectively). First attempt at this kind of poem; it's more than a little rocky. I may revisit at some point but it's supposed to show 2 opposite views.

Wow...great talent to craft a such powerful piece with opposing messages. Difficult enough to script in one "direction" much less bidirectional. Nice work.

Powerful and needed words written. The above lines should be common sense logic. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
