Eternal Quest

Eternal Quest

A Poem by Ganesh Kelagina Beedu Shenoy

When I was a child I was told about God
When I asked about God I was shown temple
When I went to temple I found priest but not God
When I questioned priest he taught me to worship
When I worshipped I found devotion but not God
When I told this to my parents they sent me to a teacher
When I asked teacher he gave me scriptures
When I studied scriptures I attained knowledge but not God
When I confronted my teacher he sent me to a sage
When I asked the sage he taught me to meditate
When I meditated my mind experienced silence but not God
When I explored silence my personality started to fade away
When I relinquished personality I experienced bliss but not God
When I was in the altitude of bliss my search for God vanished
When I understood the end of my quest I myself was vanished
When I was vanished in the ocean of bliss God has already replaced me
