Golden Rimmed Stitched

Golden Rimmed Stitched

A Poem by Melodie

Let's build a blanket immense enough to cover the earth

To never separate will tug on each end

Stretching it's knits to fit our grand paths

The expanses of our beings combined

Has surpassed all limitations installed by mankind

There are forces that waiver when are hips collide

Laws that bend as our bodies unite

Every season comes with a weapon

And our bones gravitate effortlessly to it every time

The earth's magnetic field obeys our movements

No pole will ever determine our mutual distance

The closer we approach each other

The weaker the rain becomes at loosening are handheld grip

All plants grow beneath our planted feet

All while we cross from territory to territory

But the sight of our vulnerable nakedness

Has dehydrated all of our green surroundings

As garments fall on conveniently-placed strips of wood

The sun dims at the cry of our voice

Revealing the dust floating in our breath

Trees begin to flourish and intertwine our branches

And suddenly gravity has no hold on me
