Cat Call

Cat Call

A Poem by Garland
"

An old piece from my notebook.

"

Verse 1: This feels just like a honey bee sting.
The cat creeping culprit kisses me just right.
The smell of lust was something good.
And I chased that fire until I got burned.
But I should have turned back when I knew I could.

Chorus: So don't scratch at me.
Don't roll up your sleeves.
It's quiet right now, and I'd like you to leave.
Yes, I love you was a lie.
And I'd hate to see you on a rope, but today we die.

Verse 2: You were my fix.
The ward to my mind, and the cancer inside.
You were the edge, and I'm sorry I jumped.

But your path was so dark, with your fears that would follow.

I was forced to cut it short. Always another pill I have to swallow.

I told you it's too late, and you've fallen from grace.

When my reflection was to blame, my reflection was the same.

Chorus: So don't scratch at me.
Don't roll up your sleeves.
It's quiet right now, and I'd like you to leave.
Yes, I love you was a lie.
And I'd hate to see you on a rope, but today we die.
