Sonnet 1

Sonnet 1

A Poem by AlterEgo

So Sonnets are what I must write, oh my.

Freeform is much more creative and fun.

When I read poetry, words soar to the sky.

When I write poetry. rules? there are none.

Rules in poetry is drawing in the lines

You cant cage a bird and tell it to fly

To me, sonnets are chains to the mind

I wont do it, rhyme scheme is a lie

I can rhyme anytime. A poet should know it.

Like Dr prichard's understanding poetry.

Rip the pages of the damn sonnet

Shakespeare will not confine me with his all-knowitry.

So take this William Shakespeare, i protest.

I will not rhyme the last line.

Great fun! Original and unique! I enjoyed the humour in this!.

I agree that they are difficult to write (in the lines) as you point out, but interesting to try
