Dreaming Place

Dreaming Place

A Poem by Jason Gartin

"Dreaming Place"
The moon is milk
pouring on her face
Her chin the teacup
pronounced and raised
She welcomes the wild light
of a full moon phase
Sparkling sand, the alter
of her dreaming place
Her sandy toes are periscopes
sneaking a focused view
of Captains on their distant ships
Giving orders to their crews
She sees the same rugged Captain
her eyes caress his handsome face
She wonders if he will find her
In her dreaming place
Her chalky fingers clasp the sand
her thumping heart begins to race
Her thoughts and dreams cresting now
like the oceans waves
The rugged Captain sees her face
his heart in eager marching pace
Rows his tender, full steam ashore
to finally catch her in her dreaming space

This one has the sound of Lord Byron to it. We get no specifics about the woman or the Captain. That's how it should be in a dream, though. The mood created says it all.

Ty, John the Baptist.
Very enjoyable
Definitely, much more interesting dreams than I'm able to conjure
Possibly, its because I'm not attractive enough
