Her Heart

Her Heart

A Poem by Gastroc.

i was not taught to love
but i became accustomed to its ways
rather quickly
and attached my heart to
strings and levers
in which the control i divided up
amongst my beloved
regrettedly, at times,
i took the reigns
and fought for truth
and feeling
and in doing so
this life of sadness
has taken its toll
but storms i've weathered
and remained on course
an endless
consistent battle
i engage in
to keep on living
in hopes of loving again
or loving past
memories
and not forsaking them

there were 2 parts i loved to this.

the first part couldve been a poem in itself:
i was not taught to love
but i became accustomed to its ways
rather quickly
and attached my heart to
strings and levers
in which the control i divided up
amongst my beloved

after this, it got a little muddled but then you recovered in the end with this:
in hopes of loving again
or loving past
memories
and not forsaking them
