Ishtar's Sleep

Ishtar's Sleep

A Poem by Gatlianne

Ah – the moving flow
Pulled me in
To deep, dark sanctuary
Where I wanted to lie my head
And listen to the whispered voice
Of those hushed words
Until thoughts of day drifted anon
And breath begat slumber
Until I, overcome
became lost in the glory
Of heavenly sleep
