Believing Disbelief

A Poem by Gatlianne

Believing Disbelief

It is quite easy to believe our disbelief
The emotional distress that creeps in
And left unattended
Wreaks havoc
Wrecking our borders
Savagly
As we twist and fight
Teeth bared
Knuckles lashing out in warring
Fisticuffs
Struggeling to hold on to the
Ever so slight feather of hope
That says all is not lost…
That we don’t know
In certainty
But disbelief is strong
And has an uncanny way of becoming
Belief
And to believe our disbelief
Is to create true belief
That is factually based
On mistruth
So in believing disbelief
We are creating our own
Self induced
Web of untruth
A web woven most often
In fear
A web that can grow to astounding
Proportions
And capture us…
Leaving us to hover
And wait for our demise
