Dear Edgar

Dear Edgar

A Poem by Gypsy Butterfly

Edgar, it was great to see you last week.

I didn’t mean to step on your toes,

And it just goes to show

that the world loves a tryer.

You are very trying.

Edgar; I knew I should have left you.

But when I saw the inside of your soul,

In the moment you saw me when you  weren’t ready...

I felt sorry for you.

I walked away but I didn’t.

I stepped on your toe, but I shouldn’t.

I gloated, but I mustn’t.

I rubbed your nose in it; it’s big enough to.

I wrote you a poem, I could.

I named you in it, I wanted to.

I dropped you in it, I was bored.

I’m finished now. I did.
