Self-Destruction

Self-Destruction

A Poem by Victoria

Leaky ceilings and echoing floors
Breezy windows and slamming doors

Soaking emotions in cyanide

Poison in an empty suicide

Shaking and stuttering, your fingers cold

Gazing at broken flesh, the pink ribbon bold

Mutter your innocence, speak words to me

Cover my eyes so I can't see

The crimson tide falls away from the skin

Frozen like ice where warmth had been

Shelter me from the inevitable pain

So may then, comfort I'll gain

Let me go, only when you are ready

Go on alone, but stay strong... Steady

For now, hold me close while on the tile I lay

Don't worry about me...

  I'll be okay.
