Maybe So

Maybe So

A Poem by Evans
"

She smile at the Monster in me.

"
Maybe So
Even if I had Claws, would you still hold my hand?
She did
Young, really Young
We were friends and no one liked us, because we were friends
She didn't always have clean clothes, but she never smelled like the other kids
She never had that hand to hold or that shoulder to cry on
She never had the words: "I love you"  spoken clearly
She always tried to help others before herself
She is the true meaning of Love
But can she do if everyone ran away from her
I saw that she was hurt was she smiled
I saw that she lied when she said she was fine
I saw that she was stronger than I'll ever be even if she never got into a fight
I saw that she  saw in me a light
I knew she was holding me back whenever someone said the wrong thing
I knew that she would hold my hand if it was cover in blood
I knew that she'll never let me fall under
She is the reason my words hurt
She is the reason cry alone
She is the reason I see the light
She is the reason I'll someone up, only to pull myself down
She is the Moon I look up to
The wind that I call to
No matter how hard I try I'll never be as strong as her
~To my Best Friend, where you are my heart follows

friends may not be perfect but they can still be perfect friends.

needs some editing to smooth it out, but a strong testimonial to acceptance and friendship of others.
