Christmas Lore

Christmas Lore

A Poem by Todd Mc' Callough
"

A simple off hand try at poetry.

"

A wisp, the world of frosty glass

The bells, a song, of Christmas past.

Asleep the might eye’d one awake

Oh bright, the night, the bells a-shake

A click, a clatter, among they gather;

Aloft, a flight, the hooves a-scatter

A creak, and quirk, rosy ears perk

For rosy red, white bearded smirk

For golden sack, a tiding of joy

The man, a story, the gifts employ

a-love, for home so toasty warm

lest we not forget, and cherish

a loved one’s warmth

Reminiscent of Clement C Moore.

I would suggest scrapping the last line. Try rewriting it having it rhyme better. Strive to have it match the rhyme pattern in the previous stanzas. Then this piece will be top shelf.
