Deceiving Hearts

Deceiving Hearts

A Poem by Gideon X. A. Elson
"

What lies do you tell yourself daily?

"
Forgive me for I will bother you no longer,
I do not know what it was that I expected,
Perhaps untrue my aim directed,
No more unveilings to be squandered,
Your opinion not by me will be pondered,
And just how long can I maintain this deception?
That I do not yearn for your affection,
A deceitful distortion of my hearts true passion,
Intricately weaved in a dissenting fashion.

Not my best work but mine nonetheless and proud of it I am ty
Was the mis-spelling in the last line deliberate? A very nice dinner type poem. Form not strictly adhered to, but subject matter spot on. Appropriate meter. All in all, a most enjoyable read. Well done, Sir.
