Three lovers wrought

Three lovers wrought

A Poem by Gideon X. A. Elson
"

I tried to write a villanelle. When two love each other and one loves another things set in motion that leave lovers asunder.

"
The change of seasons has winter brought,
Begin this day with mornings chill,
With deepest passion two lovers wrought,

With eyes as blue as forget-me-not,
One lover here has had their fill,
The change of seasons has winter brought,

One love smells of sweet apricot,
You may eat until you've had your fill,
With deepest passion two lovers wrought,

For one can be blind to a lovers plot,
When one lovers yearnings are against thy will,
The change of seasons has winter brought,

For sake of love one lover has fought,
For sake of love one lover stays still,
With deepest passion two lovers wrought,

One lover dead and now forgot,
One lovers blood now left to spill,
The change of seasons has winter brought,
With deepest passion two lovers wrought.

Love these lines, this is one awesome "Villanelle"
the form intrigues me, I have tried and tried to write one, but can't focus on it for too long.
This is amazing

Tragic ending to a love triangle. Lovely lyrical flow and rhyme. Never tried one of these. I admire your effort here.

Nicely executed, Sir! This poet is applauding. The rhyme flies like the lyrics of a song. The theme is classic. Shakespeare would love it.
