"

Thou shan't  sleep until the sun disappears,

and the China moon lights up the streets like

a big diamond in the sky.

       My mother always say's

       that every night,

     I lay my eyes

     down to sleep.

       When I go to sleep

     my momma tells me

  a story about China

    where I live.

China is so Lovely

at night when the

moon sparkles,

It lights up

the sky.

Jan likes to gaze

out the window

and look at the Man

and the moon.

I live in south China

the nights are cooler and

the summers are hot.

I'm 10years old my

name is Jan,

I was born in a

Gorgeous  Cute

Little small town.

My momma is Japanese

and my Father is American.

Jan ha her Daddies

fair skin, yet she

has her Mothers

silky black hair.

Adorable little girl  with

soft fair skin midnight black

hair and sea green eyes.

She's  so beautiful just

            like the colorful

sunsets,

In the China sea.

Momma, momma

tell me about Japan,

Japan I grew up

in was but a beauty.

Jan run along now

Why? Momma,

Because Papa

is taking you some

where.

Papa where are

you talking me,

I'm taking you to

a Beijing Opera.

Daddy is there princes

and princess there?

Yes young one

there is and there's

hero's and villain's

also my little dove.

Oh! papa I've only

dreamed of such

wonderful things.

Yes my little

sunbeam.

I'm going to put

on my best dress papa,

Put  your red

on dress.

No papa, I'm

putting on my

white dress  with

red roses on it.

That's my little

blooming  rose.

My two beautiful

roses.

Daddy say's

and my wonderful

wife Jezela it's just

You and your momma

is all I need.

Momma

for lunch?

Before they ate they said

a little prayer thanked god

and then ate and kissed momma

Bye Jezelea say's

Not too late

now she's got to

go to Practice for

Wushu,

The big day

for her.

Rob say's it's over

at about 7:30pm at night

then we come home  my love.

It's about 6:30pm and Jan

sits in Daddies lap and falls

asleep,

Before the shows over

some people say what a

beautiful little young lady.

He say's thank you

She's my daughter Jan,

They say you're a

lucky  man to have such a

beautiful daughter.

Thank you I'll be

going home now bye,

Jan and Rob got home

and 7:30pm as Rob off

down on her bed Rob left.

Jezlea woke up

Jan and she put on

her Pajamas and went

to bed.

Momma say's lay your

sleepy eyes down and

the moon sleeps tucked

in with you in the clouds.

Then the sun will wake

up when you awaken fair one.

Rob get's a letter

saying he must go

to war,

He's 26 years old

not too young not too old

to go so he shall go.

And Jan is getting

for happiness my sugar plum..

Your just full

of sugar,

Your growing up

The soldiers come to

take Rob

to war,

As Jan YELLED no

don't take my daddy away.

He's my daddy

not yours,

Hush, hush little

fair white blooming rose

never fade away from me.

Pray for me

my little sunbeam,

As he held his girl Jan one single

tear came from his

eye and he caught it

in a glass cup and said every time you miss me..

Keep this tear it will

bring you  luck.

Keep this picture me

so you know if I die

I'll always watch over

you and Momma,

Always think of me

daddy never forget me daddy

no I won't forget.

After that Jan never

saw her daddy again..

a year later,

She found out that her

papa was killed in the war.

Oh  she missed her papa's

sweet and kind words as

she started to cry

until her face was all red with tears.

She had a brother  he

was 5 years old his

name was Robby lee

Roberts and that was

my daddies name say's Jan.

Jan was  a full

grown woman she is

22 years old.

She had enough

grief in her life,

Years went by and little

Robby grew up and went

into war like his Daddy.

Robby Lee came back

a hero,

He just got back

from the war.

Robby saved America

and was given a golden metal

of bravery,

He was given a metal

for saving a sergeant..

For saving an

important life

we'll call you

Sergeant Roberts.

So his job was

to be a sergeant,

And to train men

to be soldiers.

Jan was happy

to see Robby he

was her only living

family alive,

Momma died at old age

when Jan was grown.

So beautiful, I could hear a qin, or a violin playing softly as I read this.
I like that it's sort of a story and a poem at the same time, told in memories from spoken word directly from the protagonist.
Well done. ^^
