Swaying flower

Swaying flower

A Poem by Benita-Staebell M - KindredPoet
"

This is from musing upon my Lebanese family they Adopted us into their family from my Cherokee roots many think I look Lebanese Beautiful people inside and out.

"

She caresses the

floor with her movements.

Her body cascades like

an Enchanting waterfall.

Poise and life when

the dance takes over her.

Beauty and grace

a dancing  Lebanese  princess.

She  cascades across

the floor like a Elegant

rainbow.

As she sways and

moves her hips

to the music.

She is  a graceful

flower swaying and

bending with her body

beautiful belly dancer.

I love Belly Dancing and I did learn to do that has to be
passion just as there is with a writer your body becomes the
movements and Rhythm Dancer moving her hips and swaying
her body with the music and beat I love belly dancing and Ballet
My great Irish grandmother was a graceful Ballerina and I look
just like her so dancing is in my blood but so is writing they're a beautiful
passion for me.

In Cedar Rapids Iowa USA is where it happened when I was 18teen years old My best friend and like family like a sister Sonya her Grandma presented a marriage proposal to me now she didn't speak English LOL.. her only English Word she could say was Hi so Sonya and her mother told me what she said she said that she asked if I would marry her youngest Grandson I was the only American Girl that she'd ever seen that looks Lebanese and Lebanese are not Muslim so you know they're born in Lebanon so they're Lebanese and very loving caring people big family people and I said no thank you but it would be like kissing my brother that they're like family to me and I was still a child yet wasn't ready for that kind of responsibility. Lebanese Grandma I called her Grandma in Lebanese and she called me sweetheart in Lebanese I can speak some of the language and understand it but she was speaking so fast at the time but she knew what I said when I spoke to her because I could speak some of the language and she looked at me like her own Granddaughter and her proposal was a honor and a nice Compliment as Lebanese woman are very beautiful inside and out smile emoticon She's no longer alive but I got to know her and be around her lot of my life they have a beautiful culture and many have Mistaken me for being and looking Lebanese and I don't have any problem with it as I feel more comfortable around other cultures so really the color of ones skin doesn't matter I will love you all just the same the color of one's skin is beautiful no matter the Shade it is what is what's in your Heart that matters and I will always be a loving soul and be there for my family and friends Sorry so long but this is my Culture I have Vietnamese Polish friends and more very beautiful cultures and their food so good if you haven't had Lebanese food you must try it my favorite dish is Lentil soup very good for you much Irion and protein but very yummy tasting

City festival in Nikolaev, Ukraine 2006

the Belly dancer dancing here is Alla Kushnir (Leila)

the photo isn't mine. I want to cry I miss my Lebanese family
we would have huge parties with family and so much yummy food oh WOW I miss it
you ever done the Lebanese Dapke dance it is so much fun :)

Dabke (Arabic: دبكة‎); also transliterated "dabka","dabki", "dabkeh", "debke", "debkah", "debki", "debka" is a modern Levantine Arab folk dance of possible Canaanite or Phoenician origin. It is popular in Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Syria

Lebanese Dabka here I miss this so much the floor shakes when we dances because of so many people dancing was fun.

Amazing video of the dance. I was lucky. I saw belly dancing often when I was in the Middle East. It is pure beauty. Thank you for the amazing poetry and video.
