"I LOVE THEM TOO, JUST THE WAY I LOVE YOU!”

"I LOVE THEM TOO, JUST THE WAY I LOVE YOU!”

A Poem by Himaya Ka
"

Oh the cry of the poor! The slamming of the door, Restless heart and soul, It’s draining to the bone.

"

“I LOVE THEM TOO, JUST THE WAY I LOVE YOU!”

A month of silence,

A social fast,

Ears were opened.

Eyes did see.

Various thoughts,

Multitude of emotions,

Different principles,

The uniqueness of reactions.

Both sides seemed right.

Nobody was wrong.

Everyone acted a victim.

No antagonist in the cast.

Oh the cry of the poor!

The slamming of the door,

Restless heart and soul,

It’s draining to the bone.

Mercy & Grace wanted to speak up.

But Mr. & Ms. Scorner said, “Stop!”

They gave them a big slap,

So they chose to shut up.

Both went home to rest.

But the scream of injustice,

It’s pulling them back.

It’s a tug of war fight.

"Hold tight!

Let go!

Step back!

Move forward!"

It hurts!

It’s tiring!

It’s suffocating!

It’s killing!

  "Hands on your head!

Cover your ears!

Run to your bed!

Hide in your blanket!"

"O, take a rest exhausted soul.

Say nothing at all.

Switch off the light of the world,

And take the lamp of The Word."

"Rest, rest! O, busy mind.

Hush, hush! O, troubled heart.

Heal, heal! O, wounded soul.

Sleep, sleep! O, weary spirit."

Another day has come,

Refreshed and warmed.

No turning on of phone,

Everything was silent.

Took a cup of coffee,

Grabbed a chair,

Feet on the table,

Sat back and relaxed.

Looked around the corner of the house,

The strong foundation,

The steeled-ceiling and the beam,

And the comforting shadow of  the roof.

Pushed the button, and there was light.

Twisted the faucet, the water flowed.

Opened the fridge, the food was found.

Clicked the stove, the rice was cooked.

Blessed, O the blest creation!

Shed tears for all God’s provision.

But how about those who suffer?

Oh, what a grief!

A soft finger touched the lips.

A cozy hush whispered to the ears.

A reassuring & comforting voice that said,

“I love them too, just the way I love you!”
