Her Hope

Her Hope

A Poem by Kenzi Griffin

She closed her eyes
Trying to keep her hopes in check.
She knew deep down,
Even if he came back,
His love will never be true.
She feels her heart drop
As she realizes how those words ring true.
She sighs and turns away
From the one who holds her heart.
She feels her heart shatters.
Leaving her empty and full of pain.
What should she do?
She wishes to be his
And call him her own.
But dreams are dreams
Some cannot be reached
Not in this year,
Not in this life,
Maybe never for her.
But she dreams
She hopes
All to no avail.
