The Shore

The Shore

A Poem by Glenn

As I walk along the beach with the waves at my feet
I think of all the people I have yet to meet,
All the sights and places I have seen.
How could life be so mean.
There is another person with me on this lonesome shore.
They are just an acquaintance and nothing more.
As we walk together the only thought in my head is how i want nothing more to get back to my bed.
When they stop I continue to walk,
that is when I hear the sound of something c**k.
As I continue to walk and watch the sun set,
the waves rolling in and getting my toes wet.
They say "Sorry, nothing I can do."
Finally confirming what I already knew.
I close my eyes, soaking in the heat.
That is when my head and it meet.
As I fall to the ground with the sand under my head.
I realize I won't ever return to my bed.
