i did,
thats another reason to smile,
and rhyming was hard,
so i didnt...

It's a blasphemy not to rhyme . :) ..well rhyming means there is too much of kindergarten still left in you. Not that I am against. A poem is what sets your soul free...and this one did pretty decent job.

it is true that poetry does not need to rhyme and you make that point very well here...I myself find it almost impossible NOT to rhyme...but maybe I am just old fashioned,,,I do write for kids mainly so I can get away with it I suppose

I shared a poem for the novel I'm writing (I write poems in my novels, which gave them more meaning) to my 11 year old niece, and her first words were "It doesn't rhyme." I couldn't help it but laugh, and I told her that poems don't need to rhyme, nor do songs. So, you have a good point with this one. Poems don't need to rhyme. Awesome job, girl!
