Go Away

Go Away

A Poem by Elizabeth

Goodbye. get out. I don’t want to see your face.

Go on, get out! Can’t you see? This is good bye.

Still you linger, haunting my favorite space,

Leave me, I don’t want to see anymore, not in this place

What is it with you? Why, I ask, why?

What did I do to invoke your ire,

is there a reason you can’t look my way?

Must we truly say good bye?

I suppose, dear, it hurts too much to stay.

But we’ll meet again, perhaps one day.

Who will we be when that day calls?

Until such time, I beg you, go away.

It didn’t have to end, but you let me fall.

You won’t let me in, beyond this wall.

You won’t say hello, you could never even call,

and I’m tired, so tired of it all.
