For Your Entertainment

A Poem by K. Blake

I used to find hope in every little thing
Like a master, the entire world was my ring
And I directed the circus without fault, without flaw
But one day I fell into the lion's maw
I tried to get out, but there was no more hope
The audience thought it was part of the show
They laughed and applauded, like good little sheep
I could hear their happiness, I should've felt complete
Instead I was stuck in the belly of the beast
Without any hint of the smallest release
The clowns all made jokes and poked their fun
And still I had nowhere to hide or run
My circus has turned from so aesthetic
A feast for the eyes, but now it's pathetic
Where did I go so wrong in my life?
To deserve such a fate, such terrible strife
I'll give up now, and mark down a defeat
Yes, it looks as though I've been beat.

sometimes life can be so unfortunate...and we can feel as though the whole world is laughing at us...yet it is when we arise from the fall(s) that we become who we truly are...keep smiling
