Seaside Muse

Seaside Muse

A Poem by gombeggar
"

much borrowed

"

Down by the seaside

Before the coming rain

Know there’s a Zep song somewhere

In my thoughts today (this song’s refrain)

Watch the seagulls flutter

So low down it does amaze

Long time since I’d seen the coast now

Got my feet in the sand

Took a walk on the shoreline

The whole horizontal coastal land

Something spoke to me there, plainly

As I looked at the bark and the shells

Mixed in with the sand grains

The sun was nice and hot as hell

Not much out in the calm waters

See the seagulls go traipsing

No clouds in the knowing

Soon the nighttime skies would be raising

Left my tracks across the beach land

Lost my songs upon the sway

Found a dime along with seashells

Not so bad an end to say

A long way it was a going

Back to home fronts ‘fore the day

Now concluded to my memory

This song will be sung another May

I really enjoyed the feeling of calm and returning to something in this, especially at the end, the solid belief that the speaker will once again return to that sand, beach, place.
Nice work
