Boogeyman

Boogeyman

A Poem by Goodbyeguilt
"

Childish nightmares.

"

Waves of Nostalgia creep, as in my bed perturbed I weep.
Dreaming of darkness, 'fore I wake.
Therein my 'mares the dark men take,
My weary nerves, my stomach knots, monsters creep, unfolding plots.

A lamp doth light, a shining way.
My sleep will wait, another day.
My eyes - they burn. My limbs are lead.
If only, if only, my empty bed.

Heart palpitates, inside my chest.
The darkness at its very best,
will steal away my breathe inside,
Whilst sunset dawns, all night I cried.

Oh brittle dreams, my nightmares forgotten,
He creeps up low, a plague, his rotten.
I shake and quiver, under softest quilt.
Like winter flower petals, my soul does wilt.

It twixts me in my dailt plight,
safe by day but not by night,
My only cure is morns sweet song,
Keep your eyes open, for the night is long.
