Chapter 1: To the City of Lyssandria

Chapter 1: To the City of Lyssandria

A Chapter by G. S. Mas.

The Kingdom of Isonomia: 2:46 PM

“Lord Alaster! Lord Jeremiah and Lord Adramalech have both arrived and are waiting for you in the foyer.”  A blonde-haired man donning a glimmering set of white heavy armor with crisp gold trimmings as well as a matching sword and shield fastened on his hip beckons, his blue eyes focused intently on the man standing before him.

He is approached by a man with spiky brown hair and blazing red eyes. His physique is well established by the marvelous crimson armor he is adorned with. The armor that encompasses his chiseled body is matched with an equally impressive set of weaponry, consisting of a large great sword in addition to a pair of long swords which he keeps sheathed on his back under a dazzling white cape that bears the Kingdom's emblem. That being a set of balancing scales painted in red as well.

Thank you, Sir William. Tell them to meet me in the conference room and I will meet with them shortly," Alaster replies to his subordinate.

"As you wish my King, I shall see to it at once." The man replies obediently as he makes his way out of the Throne Room.

‘It has been about a month since I sent those three on their assignment, I wonder how they’re holding up.’ The King of Isonomia thinks to himself before walking out to meet his esteemed guests.

The Lucky Maiden Bar: 2:46 PM

“You stupid piece of s**t! Don’t think you can mess with the Black Wolves and come out unscathed”

“We’ll grind you into dust!”

“Hope your bones are made of iron”

“Bring it on, I’ve been dying for some action”

“Ahh! My Restaurant is ruined!!!”

“Someone alert the authorities!”

“Someone give me my beer d****t!”

In what seemed like only an instance this once laid back bar has quickly turned into a raging battlefield.

Two Hours Earlier outside the gates of Lyssandria

“Hi I’m Lance Bladerunner and this here is my little sister Aria! She’s mute so don’t mind her. I hear the man in this poster has been causing a lot of trouble in the area. What can you tell me about him?” The boy rehearsed out loud to his two companions

As the young man had said, his name is Lance Bladerunner. He is an 18 year old man with brown hair styled into a fauxhawk. He wears two golden hoop earrings on each of his earlobes to go along with a sleeveless, red, lightly-armored tunic that reveals his slim yet fairly muscular physique. To go along with his tunic is a pair of baggy redpants and boots of a similar shade of red. He carries two broadswords fastened on his left hip and wears a flowy red scarf around his neck. To go along with his attire are his blazing red eyes that passionately radiate his desire to spread justice to every place he sets foot in. He is the disciple of Alaster Grand Infinium, one of the Seven Great Rulers of the nation.

“Whaddya think Fluffy? Aria?”, Lance asks his friends eagerly waiting for their opinion.

“I do insist you not call me Fluffy, sire! My Name is Count Vanderbilt Leone Von Stru-“

“Your name’s waaay too long! Plus, you’re a teddy bear. Besides, Fluffy just fits much, much better," Lance says cutting his comrade off mid-sentence.

This talking stuffed animal is actually a restless spirit that has taken possession of a fluffy brown teddy bear. He goes by the name of Count Vanderbilt Leone Von Strussen Ignacio the XVII. 300 years ago when he was among the world of the living, he was a young noble born into a wealthy family. When his parents laid on their deathbed, they named him the heir to the entire family’s fortune, his younger brother not receiving any due to his irresponsible and deplorable nature. As a result of the parents' decision his brother wanting the fortune for himself, arranged for Vandebilt's murder. Due to the nature of his death he is now a restless soul unable to be laid to rest, despite several efforts by exorcists and spiritual experts to send him to the afterlife.

“It’s a name that’s been passed down for seventeen generations, Sire! I take great pride in it no matter how long it is. But in regards to your dialogue.. For one, Aria couldn’t possibly pass as your legitimate sister as the two of you bear no resemblance to each other whatsoever. Not only that, but I think it would be more logical if Miss Aria and I were to wait outside of the city while you gather information. Though the young miss, is very intelligent and more than capable of holding her own in battle, in the eyes of a stranger, she’s just a child. They may be reluctant to share such information with a child present,” Fluffy replies to Lance in earnest.

“Hmm. You make a good point there, Fluffs. Sorry Aria change of plans, you need to stay here with Fluffy," Lance says taking note of the points Fluffy stressed to him

‘No fair Lance! I’m Grown up! I wanna go tooooo!’ the little girl said to Lance with tears forming in the corner of her eyes.

This young girl floating beside Lance is Aria Magus Rosario. She’s a 9 year old girl with skin as white as the winter snow. She has long blueish-white hair, and eyes as blue as the clear skies laid out above them. Her outfit consists of  a simple white dress that cuts off right above her knees and a  Rosary around her neck with a sapphire jewel in the center of the cross. She comes from a very prominent family of magicians and as a result has a natural affinity for the magic arts. She was hailed as a child prodigy that comes along only once a generation, being able to use a wide array of different spells. Her magical prowess allowed her to graduate from the most prestigious magical academy in the country when she was only 4. As said by Lance earlier she is indeed mute due to a traumatic experience 4 years ago in which her parents were brutally murdered before her eyes and their estate burned to the ground. Though she was the only survivor, this trauma led to a majority of her magic power being locked away. Despite being mute, she’s able to communicate with others via telepathy.

“Sorry Aria, but Fluffy’s right, it’s imperative that we get this intel. It shouldn’t take long though. We can play afterwards, okay?”

‘Fineeee…’ Aria says to Lance with a mopey look on her face before floating off towards Fluffy

“Alright guys, I’m off! Go ahead and set up camp, I should be back by dinner time.” Lance shouted as he rushed towards the city.

“I do hope he controls himself this time, Miss Aria. Of course we have more than enough funds to last us through this journey thanks to Lord Alaster, but whenever Lance gets carried away we end up spending a fortune just to pay for the damages. The man has gained a lot of notoriety in this area. They’ve begun to call him ‘The Disaster Child’,” Fluffy says to Aria with a bit of concern in his voice.

‘Hahaha big brother Lance really is reckless isn’t he? But that’s what makes Lance so fun! It’s never boring with big brother’ Aria cheerfully replies to the stuffed bear,

“Hey now Miss Aria you aren’t calling me boring now are you?!" Fluffy said jokingly

“All jokes aside, you and the young Sire really are two of a kind aren’t you? You guys may not be related by blood, but it’s quite clear you two truly care for each other like a true brother and sister would.”

Aria gives Fluffy a huge grin..

'Mhmm! I love big brother Lance more than anything!' Aria says spinning in the air with excitement.

“Ahaha. I’m sure you do Miss Aria, but enough chit-chat.. Let us set up camp, I’ll prepare lunch at exactly 1400 sharp!

Aria gives Fluffy a salute to show her approval

‘Sir, Yes sir!’

LANCE HEADS OUT TO LYSSANDRIA. WILL THE CITY GIVE HIM THE ANSWERS HE NEEDS?
