A Last Step Ahead

A Last Step Ahead

A Poem by Rev. LeRoy James
"

What happens when idealists clash with world destroying technologies...?

"
Back through time's veiling mists
impossible, too much entropy
to reorder.
We can only go forward,
leaping past the now.

Monumental forces

controlled by algorithms
bouncing from point to silicon point
across gold plated relays, bending
Einsteinian realities to push
this tiny capsule into a tomorrow.

The fragile envelope I travel in

blinks event horizon into existence
in perfect orbit around my blue green home.
Antennas align, beam reacquisition
wavelengths that remain unanswered.

They are all gone.

One Ideal triumphed in ashes over all others.
It's so damn quiet, down right peaceful...

I think I'll stay.
