From Squirms to Flutters

From Squirms to Flutters

A Poem by Green Regol
"

old poetry dump

"

Alone while your heart quickens,

I'm by myself again.

You get the fluttering of butterflies

In your stomach;

I get the squirming of caterpillars

In my gut.

Alone while you're with her,

All by myself again.

You look ahead to a new and bright future

In her arms;

I try to remember what I'd ruined,

Still in my room.

Alone when you've found love.

I'm by myself again.

Alone.
