The Valley of Hinnom

The Valley of Hinnom

A Poem by Gregor
"

a short scribble (and hopefully coherent!) about a man in the valley of hell

"

resting my donkey, I wiped my brow

I was much disturbed by that smell so foul

trash stacked tall in a reaching heap

scouring the place the vagrants do reap

here in the bosom of the Lord's darkest keep

the Valley of Hinnom

many a pace from the rampart's reach

descended the seer to deliver a speech

he said: "return you fools to that city of gold

stay in His warmth and be stayed by His hold

abscond from this place of specters and cold"

the Valley of Hinnom

awakened the vagrants; they moved to the light

to behold it myself; the noblest of sights

I made to follow this righteous race

but something did know my terrible face

now I am its eldest, most wholly disgraced

the Valley of Hinnom
