Love is Love

August 26th, the day my daughters lost their father.

She cries for him
I hear her sobs
her tears they fall
so hard.
I harden my heart
into a stone
for fear of falling
apart.
Deep breaths I take
I manage a smile
strength I have to
enforce
Happy I fake
as I laugh with you
to keep us both
on course.
Don't cry I beg
it's alright
as I sew her mending
heart.
Love is love
it will endure
his love will never
part.
