Mr. Someone

Mr. Someone

A Poem by Ashlyn Olivia
"

The night you finally realize you don't know the person you are sleeping next to

"
While you were asleep
I was awake
Memorizing body shapes
Yours, Mine
The gods in the sky
Candle lit
Mind tip
Tip toeing
While it was snowing
Radiator broken
Unwelcome words spoken
But you were in a dream
And as crazy as it seems
I felt warm blood
Coursing through my veins
But it never reached my brain
And I could not think straight
Could I be insane?
Believing I was home
Trusting that this,
This was all I needed to know?
No
I am young and full of love
By my mistake
Gave it away
To Mr. Someone

I've been going through your work, and I've come to the conclusion that a) the reason I love them so much is because you're an intense and vivid writer and b) they hit close to home.

All the times I lay awake at night, looking at the person by my side asleep, so peaceful, yet troubled by what he might be dreaming about. Then the morning comes, and he's a different person, and you wonder if you ever knew him at all.
