Wish Me Away

Wish Me Away

A Poem by Travis Gibson (poetic heroics)
"

Wanting to be where she was

"
On the whispering of repeated hopes
my desire has found itself adrift;
floating abandoned of direction
mid a dark salted with stars.

The foundation of my drive
was washed away in a flood
of my own failings, foolishly
I never stopped looking up.

Much too hopeful to see ground,
I roamed every starry night.
Hanging kaleidoscopic dreams
from every still star I found.

The crippling silence of lights, teaches
the breath of night secures no promises.
Winged feet learned to walk on ground,
and my traveling spirit found home.

A parting Sun speaks to me still;
night and those stars, call to me.
May one among them soothe this brooding soul,
and wish me away, back into her arms.

Beautiful. I love the concept of the stars wishing.
Only suggestion is that I believe the first "to" in line 9 ought to be "too", as in too much, not going to somewhere. "Much too hopeful to see ground", I believe it should probably read.

No problem :) Really beautiful though, great work!
'Hanging kaleidoscopic dreams'...love that Travis, this one shines as it speaks volumes to your mind's desires, hopes and dreams, a brooding soul with so much spirit still.

Tripped a wee bit over 'mid a dark salted with stars' dark being an adjective I was a little bit lost, other than that I love this one....dark sky perhaps.

I see another child of captcha. But unto the poem what a wonderful literary piece. You have not held back in your expression and yet the words fit effortlessly together. Bravo.
