Writers Stretch

Writers Stretch

A Poem by Holly Mason

Tap one foot and read along.
Here we go, stretching comes first-
move your tush around,
back and forth in your seat,
now go ahead be wild, tap both feet,
lean backwards, look to the heavens.
Keep it up the creative stretches.
Take your hands and hold them out,
open ,close ,open ,close, now rub together.
Arms straight up should crack that back.
Back to tapping, feel the burn!
Shoulders are going, arm circles so fast.
Starting to grow tired and breaking a sweat.
Nothing could be better then the writers stretch.
tap, tap, open ,close ,open, close, back, forth, circle, circle
Now only the mind is left to stretch,
of course it should be done now,
these words are pretty far fetched.

Your poetry has its own style, I can tell that from only reading two of your pieces of writing. Awesome job with this, again, the voice comes through strong.

I am never going to be able to read your work again without picturing you doing this :-)
Makes sense though, after all, we all exercise our mind in writing, so why not the rest :-)
