Pondering Pond

Pondering Pond

A Poem by Holly Mason

Looking into the waters depths
I dream of many things
but who else has pondered here
upon these shores
where I rest
I look in
see my reflection
the little ripples
remind me of aging
I see many faces
lovers glances
pity eyes of need
I see a stone
it is deeply hidden
who tossed it in
was it a skipping stone
I ponder at the pondering pond
just a quiet, still pond
but so many secrets
are laying, waiting
in my reflection
I pick up a glassy stone
throw
it skips three skips
to far out of my sight
but now I have left a piece
a new reflection
pondering at the pondering pond

I like this. It reminds me of when I visited Georgia's reflecting pool. Was so peaceful there, despite the crowds of people. Was like the pool chilled everyone out, just long enough to remember what silence is like.

:-)
The mirror of life...
the glass of no-doubt...
the eye of the needle..
the silence of a shout..
when you " pick up a glassy stone to
throw"
