Barefoot I dance

Barefoot I dance

A Poem by Holly Mason

Moist grass in between toes
sun hot on a summers body
the breeze sings a song
barefoot I dance in the mist
watch ,I do not care
tumbling, fumbling ,barefoot dance
a back ground of nature
a stream flowing my beat
spring shower, with a barefoot dance
no tags, no brands, no comparatives
I will dance barefoot in a crowd
my feet hit the sand
warm, warm ,sand surrounds toes
wiggle them freely I do not care
arms up, back straight, head motionless
barefoot I dance on a crowded shore
picnic baskets, laughing families are musical
barefoot in the sand we dance
evening settles, a bonfire setting
all will dance barefoot
we do not care for brands , tags
barefoot we dance as a family
we stop ,look around, whole family not here
barefoot we dance without FRIEDA
there is no music
shoes back on
we will wait to dance barefoot
until our family dances together
