Bankruptcy

Bankruptcy

A Poem by Holly Mason

Heading down to file the papers.
Chapters all in a blank row.
Tons of ink left to sell.
Blank paper will be shredded.
Everything will be in order.
Bankruptcy of mind- file chapter 1.
Bankruptcy of human kindness-file chapter 5.
Bankruptcy of what was-file chapter 19.
Pages numbered and dated.
Notarizing me of the situation.
Acceptance of filing done.
Clear conscience of heart.
