The zoo is cruel.

The animals don’t like the zoo

Yes, to you it seems just fine

But the animals want to be free to

The animals don’t like the zoo

They hate being caged and they despise you

You ignore them but they scream and whine

The animals don’t like the zoo

This captivity has to be some kind of crime

I have to agree with the message in your poem. I no longer get enjoyment visiting zoos. I don’t like to see animals kept in captivity. The repetition adds emphasis here.
