The Lover

The Lover

A Poem by Hajar

Blind, Blind

You are all about blindness,

You’re a fool,

Ignorant,

Full of self-content and selfishness.

It seems that you like to inflict pain,

And leave bruises on the soul,

While you stab people in the heart,

And you drop them on the floor,

Leaving them with their conscience

As the sea of their love burns

The ground around them,

And the regrets and the shame

Keeps them from breathing,

Your eye is bright,

And you are a smart man,

You know how to talk,

And capture them in your grasp.

And I swore, Oh yes I swore

That I wouldn’t fall for that,

But here I am on the floor,

Crying because you left me

With a malicious smile,

And I am curving on the ground,

This bloody poem .

You swore you wouldn't fall for that but you did. I think those words show how emotions can get away from us. I enjoyed reading it.

This expresses a lot of emotion in the lines... the start gets your attention... explains more in the middle and ends with a strong ending...
