She doesn't see it

She's looking in the mirror,
Crying
Once again.
She doesn't see the beauty there.
All she sees is fat,
Even when she is a stick.
She only sees an ugly girl
No matter how much makeup.
When she is flawless with
Or without it.
All she sees are terrible scars
What they are are beautiful battle wounds.
She doesn't see it.
She doesn't see the beauty that shines through.

Author's Note

I know this is true for a lot of girls. More than anyone would think. It's sad, really. If anyone reading this feels like that know your beautiful. No matter what. Stay Strong. -Skye

i really like this poem. its very relatable to most girls and even though i am a guy i can relate to that in some way because ive been dealing with body image issues since im overweight but im trying to lose weight. not because im not beautiful but because of health reasons .
